Three teenagers and a man have been arrested after an allegedly stolen car driven from Queensland to Sydney smashed into dozens of vehicles in a wild late night joy ride. The Toyota LandCruiser zig-zagged on busy Oxford and Young Streets in Surry Hills in the citys CBD at 11pm on Thursday.

The Toyota LandCruiser zig-zagged on busy Oxford and Young Streets in Surry Hills in the city’s CBD at 11pm on Thursday.

A police pursuit got underway when the car failed to stop as directed at an intersection.

“The car continued along South Dowling Street before crashing into approximately 30 vehicles – both moving and stationary – before stopping, near the intersection of Crescent Street,” police said in a statement.

Four people were seen fleeing on foot before allegedly getting into an Uber, police say.

A 22-year-old man, a 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old and 17-year-old boy were later arrested at a home in Bossley Park and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

A spokesperson for Queensland Police toldThe Guardian the car was reported missing from Palmview, on the Sunshine Coast, over 1,000km away from Surry Hills, at 11pm on Wednesday.

Police said inquiries are continuing and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
